Immersion cooling: fluid and fin design

For immersion projects, identify the coolant, viscosity at the operating temperature, fin spacing and available flow. Evaluate coated surfaces with the selected fluid; air-cooling results do not establish immersion performance. Include material compatibility and service access in the trial.

Air cooling and liquid cooling

Define the cooling architecture before discussing a coating or TIM. Map CPU, GPU, memory and storage heat sources to the heatsink or cold plate. Record inlet conditions and the sustained workload that drives the thermal requirement.

Immersion requires compatibility review

The legacy page introduces immersion cooling as an application direction. Before specifying materials, identify the dielectric fluid, exposure temperature and maintenance process. Request evidence for coating adhesion, material stability and fluid compatibility under those conditions.

Measure at system level

Record component temperatures alongside fan or pump settings, workload and power. A material comparison alone does not establish a facility energy saving, reliability improvement or service-life extension. Define the system-level acceptance target with your engineering team.
