Define the assembly and the reference configuration. Record the material, geometry, installation and operating state before making a change.
02 / The change being evaluated
Describe the material and process change precisely. Keep unrelated conditions consistent where practicable, and record any differences.
03 / Measurement conditions
Record the ambient conditions, load, measurement locations, instruments, method and duration. Include the date and identify the sample.
04 / Results and boundaries
Report observations alongside the conditions. State the boundaries of the comparison and the information needed before applying it to another design.
05 / Traceability
Retain the material revision, sample identification, photographs and source records so the comparison can be reviewed.
